| The second and currrent Collingsworth County courthouse was constructed in 1931 on the square of Wellington. The Texas Renaissance-style architectural structure is built of brick with stone accents. Though spelled with no 'g' James Collinsworth, the county's namesake and one of the signers of the Texas Declaration of Independence, was the first chief justice of the Republic of Texas. | |
