Wellington High
School
Wellington High School is a school with pride and a winning tradition.
Along with giving you the knowledge and skills to be successful in
what ever field you pursue, you will have the responsibility to respect
your fellow students, teachers, and staff members.
Our mission statement is based on the belief that all individuals
become productive lifelong learners. WHS will provide appropriate
instruction that will challenge and motivate each student to become
a positive influence in our society.
Our students will learn to be patriots for the greatest nation of
all time. The student will understand the freedom that has been given
to us and the price that was paid for that freedom.

WHS has a teaching
staff of 22 teachers, 3 custodians 2 secretaries, and 4 teacher aides
a counselor and a principal. Our enrollment is 170 students 9-12.
Wellington High school is located at 81115th street in Wellington,
Texas, Collingsworth County. The population is approximately 3500
people. The population of the city of Wellington is 2, 275 people.
The high school enrollment is 171 students. Approximately- 46% are
Anglo-American, 42%Hispanic, 11 % Black, and 1 % Native American.
The high school consists of 16 full time teachers, 6 teachers that
are shared with other campuses. The high school has one administrator,
one counselor, two secretaries, and 4 aides.
Wellington High School offers a varied curriculum to satisfy the needs
of its students and the requirements of the state of Texas. Senior
students will be able to graduate with 18 hours of college credit
gained through dual credit classes offered their junior and senior
year. Programs offered at Wellington high School include; Band. Theatre
Arts, Off Program, Special Education, Art, Dyslexia, UIL activities,
Migrant, Pre-AP and AP classes.
Wellington High School strives to involve parents in their student's
education. Many activities are designed to bring parents into school
activities. These include Meet the Rockets Night, conference period
for teachers, band concerts, theatre productions, open house, and
awards night.
