Wellington Elementary
is consistent a high performing campus with "Exemplary"
or "Recognized" status for student performance. We attribute
this success year in and year out to motivated students, quality teaching,
and parental support. Wellington Elementary strives to offer educational
opportunities ofr our students through a rigorous curriculum designed
to maximize the state's expectations for success in the subject areas
of reading, math, social studies, science, health and language arts.
Included in this curriculum are our physical education program, music
instruction and character building opportunities.

This campus is
primarily guided by the goal of accomplished readers as students promote
to each grade level. We realize that without this life skill, our
students will be handicapped in each phase of their educational career.
With this goal in mind, teachers work to incorporate reading into
each facet of the curriculum and include two reading blocks of instruction
daily.
The Wellington
Elementary Campus Plan compiled by teachers and the Site-based Committee
outlines our instructional guidelines for the year. Additional instructional
avenues for our students include Special Education, English as a Second
Language, Migrant, Gifted and Talented and Accelerated Reading Instruction.
Wellington Elementary is proud to serve the children in our community
in a shared responsibility with parents to provide the best possible
learning environment for student achievement.
